The Problem
Right now there are 9,729 people in Western Australia experiencing homelessness on any given night. They don’t have access to the basic essentials, like a safe place to sleep, a warm meal and clean clothes.
And as the weather gets colder, sleeping on the streets is a struggle so people are desperate to find shelter and comfort.
This winter, we urgently need to provide 2,113 nights of accommodation at Vinnies Tom Fisher House for people struggling on our streets. With enough funding, we'll be able to Give A Night Off the Streets to those who are doing it tough.
How you can help
YOU can help ‘Gift A Night’ at Tom Fisher House to someone experiencing homelessness this winter.
By sponsoring a night, you can help provide them with a warm bed, clean clothes and a hot meal. Because when you’re alone and living on the streets, it’s nice to know someone is looking out for you.
We need to fund 2,113 nights of accommodation for those experiencing homelessness this winter.
The colder weather is a struggle on the streets so people are desperate to find shelter and warmth.
YOU can gift a night to provide a person on our streets with a warm bed, clean clothes and a hot meal.
Your Impact
After experiencing homelessness on-and-off over the past eight years, and having fought cancer three times. Wayne* restarted his chemotherapy treatment just a day before his stay at Vinnies Tom Fisher House.
During Wayne’s stay at Tom Fisher House we were able to provide him with invaluable assistance including:
- A safe and secure place to rest and recover
- Regular nutritious meals
- Hot showers and a warm bed
- Emotional care and access to support services
Thanks to kind and compassionate supporters, and specialist staff we are able to provide respite to people like Wayne who are experiencing chronic homelessness. Wayne says without Tom Fisher House he would be ‘doing the hard yards of chemo while sleeping rough on the cold, hard concrete’.
