Stand with us and Gift A Night Off the Streets to support people struggling on our streets this winter.
We urgently need to raise $412,477 to provide 6,547 nights of accommodation, warm beds, hot showers, basic hygiene essentials, clean clothes and hot meals to people experiencing homelessness this winter.
Together, we can show them they're not forgotten in these tough times.
We need to support the most vulnerable people in our society to show them they’re not alone.

The Problem
Right now, there are 35,011 people experiencing homelessness in NSW. They don’t have access to the basic essentials, like a safe place to sleep, a warm meal and clean clothes.
As the temperature continues to drop and the cost of living pressures are rising, more and more people experiencing homelessness are turning to us for help. We have seen a 13% increase in demand at Matthew Talbot Hostel, our shelter and support centre in the last 6 months.
So this winter, we urgently need to provide 6,547 nights of accommodation at the Matthew Talbot Hostel. With enough funding, we'll be able to gift a night in the hostel to those who are doing it tough.
We need to support the most vulnerable people in our society to show them they’re not alone.
How you can help
YOU can ‘Gift A Night’ at the Matthew Talbot Hostel to someone experiencing homelessness this winter.
By sponsoring a night, you can provide them with a warm bed, hot shower, clean clothes and a hot meal. Because when you’re alone and living on the streets, it’s nice to know someone is looking out for you.
We need to fund 6,547 nights at the Matthew Talbot Hostel this winter for people experiencing homelessness.
The colder weather is a struggle on the streets so people are desperate to find shelter and warmth.
YOU can gift a night to provide a person on our streets with a warm bed, clean clothes and a hot meal.
Your Impact
After the devastating loss of family members, Nicholas found himself sleeping rough in the CBD of Sydney.
Thanks to our generous donors, Nicholas was able to stay at our Matthew Talbot Hostel where we were able to give him the hand up he needed to get back on his feet.
During his stay at the Matthew Talbot Hostel, we were able to provide Nicholas with life-changing assistance including:
- A safe place to stay, a warm bed and regular meals.
- Access to medical services to address his health concerns.
- Connecting him with a range of support services.
Today, thanks to the kindness of compassionate supporters like you, Nicholas is engaging well in living skills programs and is currently working closely with Vinnies staff to find supported housing in the community and get his life back on track.
Please Gift A Night off the Streets
A big thank you to our supporters

“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Romans 5:6-11
