People like Wendy are in desperate need of support.

Wendy had a successful career as a teacher, paid her bills and owned her own home. She believed she was secure.

Everything changed after her marriage ended and she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease. After suffering strokes and spending two months in hospital, she was unable to work.

Medical bills mounted, and Wendy had to move more than 1,000 kilometres away for treatment, leaving behind her children and support network. Before long, her savings were gone. With nowhere else to turn, she found herself sleeping in car parks, on picnic tables and even in an abandoned shipping container.

Desperate for help, Wendy called Vinnies. She was met with kindness and practical support, including food hampers, supermarket vouchers, help finding a home and essential furniture.

Now living somewhere safe and secure, Wendy is rebuilding her life with renewed confidence and hope for the future.Your generosity will help more people like Wendy break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
