Vinnies changes lives every day, but we need your help
During the month of March Vinnies is running the Knock on Effect campaign to highlight the knock on effects that donations, fundraising and raising awareness can have.
With over 2 million people living below the poverty line in Australia, including over half a million children, your contribution allows the St Vincent de Paul Society to provide more than immediate help, it provides something much more valuable - the opportunity of a better life.
You may not see the Knock On Effect of your support, but it will be felt by some of the most vulnerable in our community.
Your impact will open doors to support homelessness
The Knock On Effect of your $100 donation may be thermals and warm goods to someone sleeping rough, or meals for 30 people on any given night. It may be a week of petrol for the Night Patrol vans to ensure they can reach locations all across Canberra.
Your impact will open doors to access education
The Knock On Effect of your donation may be help with utilities for someone living in poverty, or back to school supplies. can go with open doors to education.
Your impact will open doors to healing
The Knock On Effect of your one hour of volunteering may be that someone receives groceries this week, or learns to read, or that our shops continue to raise money to support Vinnies programs and services across the region.
Your impact will open doors to a better life
The Knock On Effect of your donation of goods to a Vinnies shop may be that a person in need receives your pre-loved jumper or sleeping bag, or may be that the sale of your crockery means bus tickets for someone trying to get to a job interview.
