Change lives one lunch box at a time
Life changed dramatically for Linda when she took on the care of her two young grandchildren, Lily and Jack, while living on a small pension. Despite the joy and love they bring every day is a struggle to make ends meet.
Her limited income is stretched thin covering rent, utilities, her own medication, and the special skincare Lily needs for her eczema. Linda dreams of giving Lily and Jack nutritious meals and the best chance to thrive at school, but the weight of her worries is constant.
That’s when Linda turned to Vinnies and found hope.
Now, she can provide school lunches filled with fresh fruit and nutritious sandwiches and receive assistance with school essentials.

Going back to school is hard but for the 1 in 9 children in Western Australia living in poverty*, it is nearly impossible.
With cost-of-living pressures growing, vulnerable parents and grandparent carers like Linda are struggling to afford school essentials like stationery, uniforms, and nutritious meals —making it harder to give their children the education they deserve.
Without the support and resources to start the school year, children across our state will struggle to keep up in the classroom and are more likely to fall behind.
