TONIGHT, A PARENT WILL SKIP DINNER SO THEIR CHILDREN CAN EAT.
YOU CAN HELP FEED A HUNGRY FAMILY.
AROUND QUEENSLAND, PEOPLE ARE DOING IT TOUGH. EVERY WEEK THEY’RE TURNING TO US IN DESPERATE NEED.
They are families with a roof over their heads, but an empty fridge by Wednesday. Young people who are skipping meals until payday. Mums pretending they’re not hungry so they can feed their kids.
Every hamper, delivered by St Vincent de Paul Society QLD (Vinnies QLD) volunteer members, is more than a box of food and essentials – it’s relief, comfort and care.
The cost of living has never hit harder. More people than ever before, in almost every neighbourhood, are going without dinner tonight. Rent comes first. Then the power bills. And when the money runs out, food is what goes.
A Vinnies QLD hamper means they don't have to skip another meal. A week of pantry staples, like canned tuna, pasta, rice and cereal that fill an empty cupboard, carried to the door by Vinnies QLD volunteer members who stay for a chat.
You are stocking a neighbour's cupboard. And showing a family in your own community they are not facing this alone.

Sometimes it means two-minute noodles for a few days, because my daughters need antibiotics. If I must go without, I will. - Grace*, single mother
