Established as a Catholic Mission in the 1950s, Santa Teresa became home to people from Alice Springs and the mission at the former gold mining town of Arltunga. Known as Ltyentye Apurte to the local Eastern Arrernte speakers, Santa Teresa is 85km south east of Alice Springs and within the Rodinga Ward of the MacDonnell Regional Council.

St Vincent de Paul Society NT and the Catholic Diocese of Darwin have teamed up to position Vinnies ‘Centre of Charity’ Retail Store in the remote community of Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa Vinnies - Pilot Remote Store, the Nation's first Vinnies store in a remote Aboriginal community.

Due to funding constraints the project has been paused… We are seeking support from generous Territorians to DONATE NOW!

The Store will be established in an existing building (the former presbytery), and the proposed works include general building repairs, painting, lighting, air-conditioning, plumbing, firefighting fixtures, communications, and security systems.
